Alton Walters 1908-2000
Henry Walter’s son; Henry was the half-brother of James Morgan Walters.

COUPLE CELEBRATES 68TH ANNIVERSARY -- Alton and Edna Walters celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their home in Ace. They married on Jan 6, 1932 and are both Polk County natives. They lived in Houston for 26 years then retired and returned to their home in Ace in 1974. Their children are Sonja and Wally Asendorf of Georgetown, Darlene and Harold Wise of Canton and Sally Racki of Rye. They also have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Alton “Pappy” Walters, 92, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2000, from the Cochran Funeral Chapel, with John Brimacombe officiating. Internment will follow in Menard Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Walters died Friday, July 14, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born Feb. 11, 1908 in Ace, the son of Henry and Exer Griffin Walters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edna Walters, whom he married on Jan. 6, 1932 in Shreveport, LA.; daughter, Sally Racki of Rye; daughters and sons-in-law, Sonja and Wally Asendorf of Georgetown, and Darlene and Harold Wise of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Arley and Lonnie Walters of Houston; sister Sadie Murphy of Livingston; granddaughters, Alyssa Racki, April Racki Townsend, Toni Asendorf and Terri Asendorf; grandsons, Joe Keith Mang and wife Monte, Grad Bowman and Jim Wise; great-grandsons, Chase Townsend, Hunter Townsend and Curtis Lee Wise; and great-granddaughters, Caitlin Townsend, Alexa Mang and Haley Mang.
Pallbearers will be Joe Keith Mang, Brad Bowman, Arley Walters, Wally Asendorf, Harold Wise and Frank Campagna. Honorary pallbearers will be Pail Ducoin and Don Travis.
